Accessibility
Last updated 15 August 2026
A space that says it centres people who have been overlooked should be usable by people who are routinely overlooked online. This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1, at level AA.
What has been done
The site is built to work with keyboards alone, with a skip link to jump past navigation. Every image carries descriptive alternative text. Headings run in a logical order so screen readers can navigate by structure. Body text meets or exceeds the contrast ratios required at level AA, and layouts reflow for magnification and for small screens without loss of content. Motion, including the scrolling banner on the home page, stops entirely for anyone whose system requests reduced motion.
Known limitations
Some decorative type is set in a light colour on a pale background and, while it carries no essential information, it does not meet AA contrast on its own. Handwritten captions on the photographs in the About section are stylised and may be harder to read for some people; the same information appears in the surrounding text. Scheduling and payment happen on Calendly and Stripe, which are third party services outside this site’s control.
If something does not work for you
Please say so. Accessibility problems are treated as real problems, and telling me about one is a favour, not an imposition. Email alexis@alexiskimball.com or call (206) 651-5054 and describe what happened and what you were trying to do.
Accommodations for sessions
If you need an accommodation to take part in a consultation or a session, including a different scheduling method, a different communication format, or extra time, ask. Requests are welcome and do not need to be justified or documented.
